Job Description

We’re seeking an Avionics Engineer to take early design ownership of electronic subsystems for our first spacecraft. In this role, you'll be responsible for designing, building, testing, and improving reliable, space-ready avionics. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with spacecraft or similarly complex, high-reliability systems.

Responsibilities

• Own system-level avionics architecture and interface definitions; make informed system-level design trades.
• Prototype, design, bring up, and validate key electronics systems including flight computers, communications, power systems, and ADCS electronics.
• Develop internal electrical engineering best practices, processes, and tooling.
• Build in-house test infrastructure for avionics systems (e.g., flatsats, GPS simulation, power and communication simulation tools).
• Design and execute qualification tests for vibration, shock, thermal, and thermal vacuum environments.
• Own your hardware through development, qualification, and flight operations.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and validating PCBAs for spacecraft or similarly demanding environments (e.g., aerospace, automotive, defense).
• Proven ownership of high-reliability electronics subsystems from concept through deployment.
• Strong ability to work independently and make progress in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
• Skilled in navigating tight design constraints and iterating on system requirements and architecture.
• Comfortable debugging and troubleshooting at the system and component level.
