ABOUT THE ROLE

We're looking for an exceptional Controller to report directly to the CEO and lead our accounting function. This represents a unique opportunity for an experienced finance professional to get in on the ground floor. We need to move fast, scale quickly and expand our platform globally.

This role will be very hands-on and play an integral part in all aspects of full-cycle accounting operations as we scale. This role is critical to the business and you will have the opportunity to interact with many departments within the company to support the organization in an exciting time. The ideal candidate will be highly analytical, able to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment, and have strong entrepreneurial, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

What You'll Own

• Own the full-cycle monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting close processes and preparation of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP
• Hire and develop a world class accounting team as Neighbor scales
• Oversee insurance programs, including a nationwide property protection captive and $1M guarantee
• Prepare for and lead annual audits and quarterly reviews with external auditors
• Research and resolve accounting errors, discrepancies and control deficiencies
• Oversee the quote-to-cash process, including billing and revenue recognition
• Support FP&A in annual budget and on-going forecasting process
• Manage accounts payable and expense report processing
• Manage tax compliance and tax partners
• Prepare investor financial reporting
• Prepare ad-hoc reporting

Who You Are

• 6-10+ years of related accounting experience, preferably with several years in both public accounting and start-ups
• Enjoys a dynamic high-growth environment and can work well with less-defined processes
• Bachelor's degree in accounting and CPA or equivalent experience
• A mindset to take ownership of process improvement
• Experience working with internal stakeholders
• Ability to work on-site at our Lehi, UT location
• Experience with Quickbooks Online, Stripe, and SQL strongly preferred
• Nice-to-have: two-sided marketplace accounting experience
