District Overview Kiewit Building Group specializes in vertical construction, including office buildings, industrial facilities, education and sports facilities, hotels, hospitals, transportation terminals, government buildings, and more. Capabilities include general contracting, construction management, design-build, design-assist and turn-key project development. Responsibilities Field Engineering: Assist in interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision Perform quantity calculations by taking measurements and determining completed/installed materials and work Assist in the preparation of work plans and work packages Assist in field surveying and work layout support including elevation, control points, and as-built data Assist in compiling, processing, and confirming daily labor timesheets Assist in the preparation of Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) Assist in providing solutions related to underground tunneling and construction operations Participate in jobsite safety reviews, toolbox and safety meetings, and safety training Order and schedule material deliveries Plan, schedule, and coordinate work groups on the jobsite Supervise field operations Office Engineering: Perform material takeoffs from drawings, specifications, and other contract documents Perform basic engineering calculations and technical drafting to support field operations Assist engineers to gather and prepare data for submittals or transmittals to customers, vendors, subcontractors, governmental agencies, and internal use Participate in the preparation of purchase orders and subcontracts, including minor solicitations and purchasing as requested Schedule maintenance and perform updates as directed Maintain basic project recordkeeping and correspondence (daily reports, photographs, RFIs, memoranda) Enter data into the job cost system and review cost reports with jobsite management Assist in generating change orders and as-built data for Project Manager review Provide field support and supervise subcontractor operations Review and analyze historical project data for bid preparation Complete plan and specification reviews for assigned projects, highlighting risk areas to Senior Estimator Complete material and quantity takeoffs according to bid documents Qualifications Ability to travel and relocate to cities as business requires Bachelor's or Associate’s degree in a construction-related field of engineering Positive, can-do attitude; highly motivated with initiative Strong work ethic and commitment to ethics and integrity Passion for safety and ensuring a safe work environment Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail Experience with leadership in some capacity; valid transportation to and from work Previous internship experience is preferred Ability to access all points of a construction site in varying climates and environments Other Requirements Regular, reliable attendance Work productively and meet deadlines timely Communicate effectively with supervisors, employees, and others Work overtime and weekends as required May work at various locations; conditions may vary Compensation and Benefits Base Compensation: $80,000/yr - $90,000/yr (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to education, experience, skillset, and location) This posting will be active from 08/18/2025 to 12/23/2025.
