Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Food Safety and Regulatory to lead and manage the food safety and regulatory programs of our client. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in food or beverage manufacturing, regulatory compliance, implementation of FSMA rules and team leadership to ensure our products meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of food safety and quality systems, including HACCP, GMPs, and SQF or equivalent programs.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, USDA, FSMA).
• Lead and develop a high-performing FSQA team across multiple sites or production lines.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external audits and inspections.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, R&D, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues and support product innovation.
• Monitor and analyze quality metrics, driving root cause analysis and corrective actions as necessary.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, emerging risks, and best practices in food safety and quality.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive experience in regulatory compliance in a food or beverage manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to coach, mentor, and manage teams effectively.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and food safety standards.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Prior experience working directly with USDA

Preferred Certifications:

• HACCP Certification
• PCQI, SQF Practitioner, or similar food safety credentials
