Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Food Safety Manager to oversee and enhance the food safety protocols within the organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, implementing quality management systems, and promoting a culture of safety and quality throughout the facilities. This role is crucial in maintaining the quality and integrity of all food products manufactured and distributed by the company.

Responsibilities:

• Create, implement, and maintain food safety policies and procedures aligned with current regulations and industry standards.
• Deliver regular training on hygiene, sanitation, and safe handling practices. Ensure all staff follow food safety protocols.
• Stay current on food safety laws. Lead regulatory inspections and ensure compliance with FSMA, HACCP, and GMP requirements.
• Conduct hazard analyses and risk assessments. Oversee HACCP plans and implement controls to mitigate food safety risks.
• Lead internal audits and inspections. Manage GMP audit programs to monitor food safety performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Develop and enforce response plans for contamination events or recalls. Coordinate timely action across departments.
• Evaluate supplier food safety practices. Work with vendors to ensure raw materials meet safety and quality standards.
• Lead and support food safety specialists, auditors, and documentation staff. Assign tasks, build skills, and drive team efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Food Safety or related field advanced degree/certifications (Certified Food Safety Manager) preferred
• Strong experience in food safety within food processing or manufacturing
• In-depth knowledge of HACCP, GMP, FSMA, and other food safety frameworks
• Strong proven leadership skills and team management experience
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
