As a Licensed Veterinary Technician at our high-volume spay/neuter and community wellness clinic, you'll work alongside dedicated veterinary professionals to provide compassionate, high-quality care to over 10,000 animals annually. You'll assist in preparing animals for surgery, monitoring anesthesia, supporting wellness appointments, educating pet owners, and helping deliver top-tier medical care every single day. Muat have a high school diploma or equivalent; Must be Licensed by the South Carolina Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners as a veterinary technician. Must have a valid South Carolina Driver's License. Must be proficient with basic computer applications. Must be certified euthanasia technician. Must demonstrate a commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working environment. Strong customer service orientation; excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills; Ability to prioritize and organize the daily workload to ensure the most efficient and humane care for the animals at the shelter; Ability to communicate orally and in writing; Ability to interview and assess pertinent patient information from client by telephone and in person. Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor during emergency situations and work under stressful ant time-restrictive conditions; Ability to exercise judgment and discretion and work with persons in highly stressful situations. Identification of various breeds of dogs, cats, and other small domestic animals. Knowledge and ability to execute proper animal handling and cleaning techniques to avoid the spread of disease to other animals as well as employees and volunteers.
