Job Summary

The Manager of Sports Programs & Eligibility Compliance is a key leader in MIU Athletics, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of all athletic programs, ensuring full compliance with NAIA eligibility standards, and fostering an exceptional, mission-aligned student-athlete experience. This individual serves as the primary bridge between athletic coaches and the Athletics leadership team, and other university departments, supporting strategic coordination, communication, and a culture of continuous development and integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee scheduling, logistics, and operations for all athletic teams (practices, competitions, travel, etc.)
• Provide direct support to head coaches, offering guidance on team operations, university procedures, and best practices
• Coordinate closely with Athletics leadership on department goals, planning, and program alignment with university values
• Help lead department-wide meetings and serve as the first point of contact for coaches' operational needs
• Assist with planning and executing athletic events, home competitions, and student engagement initiatives
• Support oversight of game-day operations and serve as an on-site lead for home events
• Partner with the Sports Information Director and Marketing to promote athletic events, student-athlete achievements, and community engagement

• Serve as the primary point of contact for student-athlete eligibility processes and documentation
• Work closely with the Registrar, Admissions, and coaching staff to ensure all student-athletes meet and maintain NAIA eligibility standards
• Maintain accurate, timely records and ensure compliance with all NAIA, institutional, and departmental regulations
• Track student-athlete academic progress and collaborate with Academic Advising to provide timely interventions
• Guide coaches in monitoring and supporting student-athlete academic standing and eligibility updates
• Coordinate eligibility education for student-athletes, staff, and coaches

• Design and lead programming that supports student-athlete wellbeing, personal growth, leadership, and life skills
• Facilitate orientation and welcoming experiences for new and returning student-athletes
• Serve as an advocate and mentor for student-athletes, fostering a positive and inclusive athletic culture
• Help organize and coordinate Consciousness-Based Sports workshops and events
• Collaborate with Student Life, Academic Advising, and other departments to ensure integrated student support
• Solicit and respond to student-athlete feedback on their experience and engagement

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Sports Management, Higher Education, or related field preferred

• 3+ years experience in athletics administration, student-athlete support, or program management
• Working knowledge of NAIA eligibility rules and procedures strongly preferred
• Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Experience mentoring student-athletes or working in student development
• Alignment with MIU’s consciousness-based educational mission and values
