PARK MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT – CENTRAL VALLEY DISTRICT / SAN JOAQUIN SECTOR / MILLERTON LAKE STATE RECREATION AREA
This classification is subject to the Post and Bid process. Applications from a certification list, transfer change in class, reinstatement, re-employment, and training and development assignment candidates will be accepted for this position but consistent with the MOU/Bargaining Agreement BU12/13 contract cannot be acted upon unless the Post & Bid process does not result in a hire.
The reporting location for this position is Millerton Lake State Recreation Area in Friant, CA. This position will work under the supervision of the Park Maintenance Chief I.
The Park Maintenance Assistant will do routine cleanup and maintenance; will perform various housekeeping, grounds keeping and minor maintenance tasks; answers routine questions from the public as necessary; completes miscellaneous reports; leads and trains less experienced maintenance personnel in housekeeping and minor grounds work. May lead a crew of seasonal employees doing cleanup and other unskilled work during peak seasons.Training and Development Assignments may be considered.
Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license is required. You must answer the questions addressing your driver’s license on your application. Ensure you provide your driver’s license number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on your application.
The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.
The incumbent’s work schedule will be Wednesday to Sunday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
Per California Code of Regulations (CCR) 599.961 , this is a sensitive position, and therefore subject to drug and alcohol testing. It should be noted that testing is not mandatory, but is allowed to be conducted only if and when there is a determination of reasonable suspicion as defined in CCR 599.962 .
This position is designated as not telework eligible.
