Job Description

Functions as part of the dialysis health care team in providing safe and effective dialysis therapy for patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse in accordance with organization policies, procedures, and training and in compliance with regulations set forth by the corporation, state, and federal agencies. Responsible for the setup and operation of hemodialysis machines. Assist in the maintenance of a safe and clean working environment. Supports the organization commitment to the Quality Enhancement Program (QEP) and CQI Activities, including those related to patient satisfaction and actively participates in process improvement activities that enhance the likelihood that patients will achieve the organization Quality Enhancement Goals (QEP).Principal duties include patient education, treatment initiation and monitoring, vascular access evaluation and cannulation, administration of heparin as delegated, obtaining vital signs and weights pre and post treatment, documenting treatment data accurately, infection control practices, assisting in training staff, and supporting transitional care unit activities. The role requires physical demands such as frequent standing, lifting up to 40 lbs with assistance, and travel between assigned facilities. High school diploma or GED required, with CMS-approved state and/or national certification within required timelines. Previous patient care experience preferred. CPR certification required. No prior healthcare experience required as paid 12 weeks of training is provided to become nationally certified. No overnight, Sunday, or on-call shifts. Major holidays off. Up to $5,200 RN tuition reimbursement per calendar year.
