Overview
The Commonwealth of Virginia is hiring two PeopleSoft Business Analysts to support the Cardinal Post Production Support (PPS) team. These roles will focus on the Project Accounting and Procurement functional areas within PeopleSoft Financials v9.2. Ideal candidates will have experience in these modules or broader PeopleSoft Financials knowledge, with training available for the right candidates.
Upcoming Initiatives
- PUM Upgrade: First time in 7 years; 30 images to be applied.
- BI & Insights: New Business Intelligence tool to be established within PeopleSoft.
Shared Responsibilities (Both Roles)
- Provide Tier 2 functional support, including help desk ticket resolution and user assistance.
- Troubleshoot software issues and document findings for Tier 3 development teams.
- Collaborate with developers to design, test, and implement system changes.
- Perform system and regression testing for upgrades and fixes.
- Update job aids and contribute to training material revisions.
- Participate in system enhancement projects, including fit-gap analysis and process redesign.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, security standards, and business requirements.
- Read (not write) SQL and PeopleCode; use PeopleTools for functional analysis.
- Communicate effectively with end users and stakeholders.
- Support the upcoming PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM) upgrade and introduction of BI & Insights and Work Centers.
Candidate Profile
- Junior-Mid level professionals with a strong interest in ERP systems.
- Experience in PeopleSoft Financials; training available for the right fit.
Project Accounting Business Analyst
Role 1:
Primary Modules: Project Costing, Customer Contracts
Role-Specific Duties:
- Serve as SME for project accounting functionality.
- Monitor project-related transactions and data flows to identify inefficiencies.
- Support complex upgrade work—30% to 60% of the PUM upgrade relates to this area.
- Ideal for candidates with experience in project financials or contract management.
Preferred Background:
- PeopleSoft Project Costing and/or Customer Contracts experience.
- Strong analytical skills for handling complex financial data.
- Peoplesoft Update Manager (PUM) experience.
Procurement Business Analyst
Role 2:
Primary Modules: Purchasing, Accounts Payable (secondary)
Role-Specific Duties:
- Serve as SME for procurement functionality.
- Monitor procurement transactions and recommend process improvements.
- Support transition planning as the current procurement SME nears retirement.
- Easier to train—ideal for candidates with procurement experience and basic PeopleSoft knowledge.
Preferred Background:
- PeopleSoft Purchasing and/or Accounts Payable experience.
- Business acumen (e.g., Procurement Officer open to software training).
- Peoplesoft Update Manager (PUM) experience.
