Job Description

As a Security Officer - Government Site in Soquel, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government and more.

As a Security Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in helping to maintain a secure environment within a government location. In this unarmed position, you will conduct regular tours throughout the assigned area, remaining highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents and provide peace of mind to those on site. Your responsibilities will include monitoring for unusual activity, responding to incidents as needed, and delivering exceptional customer service through clear communication and a professional presence. This post requires driving as part of your duties, so a valid drivers license is necessary. Pay Rate: $22.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

Day Time Mon 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM Fri 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM Sat 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM Sun 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random tours around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
• Observe and report any unusual activity, security-related incidents, or maintenance issues encountered during tours.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, visitors, and staff while conducting rounds.
• Follow all post orders and instructions provided by Allied Universal and site management.
• Assist with access control and monitor entry and exit points as required by site-specific policies.

• Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton is preferred.
• A valid drivers license is required and must meet Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid drivers license will be required for driving positions only.
