Responsibilities
Review medical documentation and assign appropriate codes (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS)
Submit and monitor insurance claims for accuracy and timely reimbursement
Research and resolve denied or rejected claims
Post payments, reconcile accounts, and maintain billing records
Communicate with patients, providers, and insurers professionally
Maintain HIPAA compliance at all times
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required
Certification or associate degree in medical billing/coding preferred
Entry-level candidates are welcome; training provided for motivated learners
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficiency with computers and billing software a plus
Typical Workday
A typical day includes reviewing patient charts, coding encounters, submitting claims, following up on denials, and joining virtual check-ins with your team lead. You’ll balance independent focus work with team collaboration.
