Responsibilities
Assign proper medical codes to patient encounters
Submit and track claims with insurance providers
Correct denied claims and resubmit for reimbursement
Maintain HIPAA-compliant billing records and documentation
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required
Certification preferred, but entry-level encouraged to apply
Strong communication and detail orientation
Motivation to learn and adapt in a fast-paced healthcare setting
Typical Workday
You’ll spend your day coding encounters, submitting claims, monitoring claim statuses, and updating payment records, with flexibility to manage tasks around your schedule.
