JOB TITLE: Scrum Master **TOP 3 SKILLS:** Scrum Master & Agile Delivery, Jira, & Confluence LOCATION: SF Bay Area & Bentonville | Hybrid Remote/Onsite DURATION: 6 6-month contract with possibility for extension RATE RANGE: 55-75/Hour DOE POSITION SUMMARY: As a Scrum Master within the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) organization of a major retail enterprise, you’ll play a critical role in advancing agile maturity across high-impact technology teams. This is a hands-on delivery role focused on facilitating Scrum processes, accelerating product execution, and ensuring seamless cross-functional collaboration. You’ll work with technical product managers, engineers, and design teams to improve sprint efficiency and delivery discipline—directly supporting strategic technology initiatives in a fast-paced, omni-channel retail environment. RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead all core Scrum ceremonies: Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-Ups, Backlog Grooming, Reviews, and Retrospectives. Collaborate closely with Technical Product Managers to refine and prioritize work across distributed teams. Proactively identify and remove impediments that impact team performance and velocity. Partner with engineering, product, UX, QA, infrastructure, and data teams to drive consistent delivery. Align sprint outcomes with executive objectives by coordinating with the CTO’s Chief of Staff. Champion Agile and DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and continuous feedback. Track and report on delivery performance metrics (e.g., velocity, cycle time, throughput). Foster a culture of iteration, retrospection, and measurable improvement. QUALIFICATIONS: 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Delivery Lead in a tech-forward organization. Expertise in Agile/Scrum facilitation, backlog health management, and cross-functional stakeholder alignment. Experience supporting TPMs and engineering teams in enterprise-scale environments. Strong command of Jira, Confluence, and delivery metrics tools. Exceptional communication, coaching, and organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications Background in retail technology, eCommerce, or high-volume transactional systems. Experience within a CTO office, innovation team, or enterprise agile transformation initiative. Familiarity with scaled Agile (SAFe, LeSS) and DevOps/CI/CD ecosystems. Agile certifications: CSM, PSM, A-CSM, SAFe, or equivalent. BENEFITS SUMMARY: Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
