Senior Electrical Power Engineer The Dahill Group is pleased to assist our client, an innovative energy company seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Electrical Engineer to support power projects, especially focusing on data centers. Our client, a team of energy experts, is dedicated to building reliable and affordable power to meet North America's growing electricity demand. The company uniquely supports merchant grids, behind-the-meter, private microgrids, and bridge power solutions for data centers, industrial reshoring, and fleet electrification. The position will be based in our client's Denver or Houston office. The Senior Electrical Engineer will manage the full lifecycle of electrical engineering projects—from concept development to project closure. Responsibilities include scope development, engineering and design, procurement, construction, commissioning, start-up, and final completion. The role involves preparing specifications for low, medium, and high voltage (480V to 138kV) electrical systems, coordinating with project teams, vendors, and reliability teams, and ensuring compliance with standards and codes. Qualifications & Requirements Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BS) required; P.E. license preferred. 10-20 years of relevant electrical engineering experience, focusing on power systems and infrastructure projects. Experience with microgrid and grid synchronization. Deep knowledge of NEC, ISA, ANSI, NEMA, NFPA, IEC, and IEEE standards. Hands-on experience with HV/MV/LV switchgear, motor control, VFDs, transformers, large motors, and SCADA systems. Proven ability to specify electrical equipment and design complex infrastructure systems. Experience in system modeling, arc flash assessments, and coordination studies (ETAP). Ability to develop detailed design and construction documentation. Strong project management skills and ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders. Desired Qualifications & Requirements Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication skills for report writing and stakeholder interaction. Experience with electrical system commissioning and startup. Familiarity with international electrical standards. Primary Responsibilities Lead electrical engineering efforts from design to commissioning. Develop specifications and requisitions for electrical equipment. Coordinate with project teams, vendors, and reliability groups. Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards. Perform system modeling, arc flash assessments, and coordination studies. Develop and issue detailed design and construction packages. Oversee installation and commissioning activities. Provide technical oversight during field activities. Review and approve engineering reports and documentation. Participate in risk assessments and system optimization. Ensure complete project closure documentation. Salary & Benefits Salary: $115K to $250K annually, commensurate with experience.
