Job Title: Software engineer Elastic Search
Location: Bellevue, WA

The CD Experience Tooling team develops critical self-service applications for managing Max, Discovery+, and other platforms operated by WBD. This includes:

• CMS Frontend
• Content Promotion Tooling
• Content Catalog Tooling

This specific position is for the Content Tooling Team, which manages several backend services enabling flexible consumption and querying of the WBD Content Catalog. The platform is primarily built using Java, ElasticSearch, and Aurora.

We are seeking a strong backend engineer who can evaluate the current platform and contribute to its evolution for enhanced innovation and scalability.

Responsibilities:

• Define and build a long-term vision for the application.
• Collaborate with team members to deliver new projects and features.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
• Contribute actively to backend service development.

Elasticsearch:

• Experience optimizing indexing pipelines and query services for content metadata.

Database Technologies:

• Expertise in DynamoDB, RDS, and general data modeling.
• Ability to optimize ingestion and query performance using best practices.

Java:

• Proficiency in developing backend services in Java.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, database interactions, and API development.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Front-end development experience with React.
• Familiarity with Kotlin.

Preferred Background / Soft Skills:

• Experience with data modeling and complex data queries.
• Strong communication and team collaboration abilities.
• Analytical mindset for evaluating and improving backend systems.
