Job Description

An opportunity is available for a full-time Special Education Teacher specializing in elementary education (3rd-5th grade) for the upcoming full school year. This contract position focuses on delivering individualized support to students within an elementary school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement specialized instructional plans tailored to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure inclusive classroom environments.
• Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching methods as necessary to promote academic growth.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate regularly with families and school personnel.
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development and review of Individualized Education Programs.

Qualifications:

• Valid teaching credential in Special Education.
• Experience working with elementary student caseloads, preferably grades 3-5.
• Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to create engaging, adaptive lesson plans that address diverse learning needs.

Location:

• Position is based in Kelso, Washington, within an elementary school setting.
