General Description of Duties

The Summer School Teacher will be responsible for providing instruction to students in a summer school program, focusing on reinforcing core academic skills or introducing new material. The teacher will develop and implement engaging lesson plans, assess student progress, and maintain a positive and supportive learning environment.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and implement daily lesson plans aligned with the curriculum and program objectives.
• Create engaging and interactive learning experiences for students, utilizing various teaching methods and resources.
• Provide differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of students.
• Assess student progress regularly through various methods, including quizzes, tests, projects, and observations.
• Provide constructive feedback to students on their work and academic performance.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
• Create and maintain a positive and conducive learning environment.
• Manage student behavior effectively and fairly.
• Follow established school policies and procedures regarding student discipline.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and any concerns.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff members to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment for students.
• Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
• Valid teaching license or certification.
• Experience teaching in a similar grade level or subject area.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.

Working Conditions:

Ability to stand, sit, and move around for extended periods of time. Ability to lift and carry materials, such as books and supplies. Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents. Franklin City School District
