Your role and responsibilities In this role, you will have the opportunity to ensure the Service portfolio is delivered effectively according to ABB standard processes and safety guidelines to satisfy customers. Each day, you will execute technical support, act as a specialist, and solve problems in your own area of expertise. You will also communicate proactively with both the customer and ABB sales teams to understand customer needs and seize business opportunities for service growth. The Ports Technical Support Engineer (SE) plans and executes, with minimal guidance, complex technical field assignments involving installation, modification, testing, inspection, or repair of company products and equipment. The SE may coordinate work with other groups to meet customer commitments. As the primary contact with the customer's operations personnel, the SE may also recommend operational improvements and customer service enhancements. The role is primarily remote, supporting the Process Automation, Marine, and Ports Division. Key responsibilities include: Providing technical support and problem-solving in your expertise area via remote or on-site service. Developing, marketing, or manufacturing new Service offerings based on customer requirements. Providing technical consulting to management and customers. Identifying new sales opportunities and communicating effectively with customers and sales teams to promote service growth. Qualifications for the role Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical field (preferred but not required). At least 5 years of experience with drives and PLC/process control systems. Familiarity with motors and medium-voltage power distribution. Experience with port/container crane environments and procedures is preferred.
