Neuro ICU Registered Nurse (RN) - Wausau, WI

Location: Wausau, Wisconsin

Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts

Job Description:

• Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients in the Neuro ICU, monitoring neurological function and managing complex conditions.
  
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  
• Administer medications, intravenous fluids, and other therapies as prescribed, monitoring patient responses and adjusting care accordingly.
  
• Perform and assist with diagnostic procedures, including advanced neurological monitoring and interventions.
  
• Utilize critical thinking and clinical skills to assess patient status and make rapid decisions in emergency situations.
  
• Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families, explaining procedures, conditions, and care plans.
  
• Maintain accurate patient records, adhering to hospital policies, procedures, and legal regulations.
  
• Ensure patient safety and adhere to infection control protocols at all times.
  

Education and Certification Requirements:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Wisconsin.
  
• BLS, ACLS certifications required; CCRN (Critical Care RN) certification preferred.
  
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Neuro ICU or ICU settings.
  
• Strong understanding of neurocritical care and advanced neurological monitoring techniques.
  
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a compassionate and patient-centered approach.
