The Development Program Manager (BMS/EPMS Controls Leader) is primarily responsible for leading and managing the control systems design, pre-construction and construction activities across the portfolio. This Program Manager will lead the BMS / EPMS Controls team, which is responsible for ensuring our controls systems are designed per the controls Basis of Design (BOD) and that the technologies are installed per the design / BOD. The Program Manager will interact on a daily basis with Facilities, Contractors, Designers, Engineers, Commissioning Agents, Vendors, and Data Center Operations staff and should have both written and oral communication skills commensurate with this level of regular communication. Responsibilities include managing multiple projects on campuses, maintaining budgets, schedules, and status reports, creating and communicating updates suitable for executive reviews, working with stakeholders to create master development programs, managing entitlement and permitting, implementing multi-phased site development plans, writing scopes of work, evaluating pricing proposals, coordinating procurement, monitoring budgets, establishing schedules, reviewing pay applications and change orders, establishing construction security procedures, developing product deployment plans, collaborating with sales and product teams, representing QTS in meetings, aiding in due diligence for new sites, and enhancing project management processes. Basic qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering or equivalent experience, eight or more years in commercial construction practices including various project delivery methods, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and ability to travel up to 50%. Preferred qualifications include ten or more years in building controls design and implementation, five or more years of project management, strong communication skills, experience in data center environments, advanced degrees or MBA, experience with mission critical data center facilities, and extensive MEP trades management experience.
