Fast-growing AI healthcare startup is hiring a Founding Data Scientist.
Seeking a true player-coach , offering the opportunity to shape the data science function from the ground up while remaining hands-on in analytics, modeling, and product collaboration.
What Youll Do
Establish the data function: build systems, tools, best practices, and a long-term data strategy
Hands-on analytics and modeling: develop predictive and optimization models, perform ad hoc analyses, and prototype ML applications
Collaborate across teams: work closely with product, engineering, and clinical leaders to uncover trends, inform features, and drive measurable outcomes
Client-facing insights: analyze healthcare data, create dashboards, and translate findings into actionable recommendations
Leadership growth: act as a player-coach, mentoring future data hires as the team expands
What Were Looking For
8+ years in data science or advanced analytics
Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL
Experience with healthcare datasets (claims, EMR/EHR,
Strong statistical modeling and ML knowledge (scikit-learn, StatsModels, PyTorch)
Comfortable with ambiguity, able to own end-to-end data initiatives, and influence product/clinical decisions
Strong communication skills for cross-functional and external stakeholder engagement
Tech Stack: Python, R, scikit-learn, StatsModels, PyTorch, SQL, healthcare claims + EMR/EHR data, ICD/CPT/HCPCS, BI tools
