HVAC Sales Engineer

HVAC Sales Representative, Application Engineer, HVAC Solutions Engineer

• HVAC Systems & Equipment
• Based in Northern New Jersey, with project sales territory being New Jersey and New York
• Full-Time permanent Associate/Mid-level staff position
• Reports to the sales manager & executive leadership

Our client is a well-respected and established manufacturer’s representative firm specializing in HVAC equipment and building system solutions. They partner with leading industry manufacturers to deliver innovative, energy-efficient products to engineers, contractors, and building owners. The team is passionate about building relationships, solving technical challenges, and helping our clients achieve success.

Actively seeking a results-driven and technically skilled HVAC Sales Engineer to join the growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying customer needs, developing technical solutions, and driving sales of HVAC systems and services. This role requires a solid understanding of HVAC principles, system design, and customer relationship management to deliver innovative and cost-effective solutions that meet or exceed client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Assess client needs and requirements to provide customized HVAC solutions (commercial/industrial).
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations and proposals that demonstrate product capabilities and value propositions.
• Provide accurate technical support and application advice to clients and internal teams.
• Estimate project costs, prepare quotes, and assist in the negotiation and closing of sales.
• Collaborate with engineering, project management, and service teams to ensure customer satisfaction throughout the sales and installation process.
• Keep abreast of market trends, competitor activities, and new technologies in HVAC systems.
• Meet or exceed sales targets set by the company.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Technology, or a related engineering field.
• 1-5+ years of experience in HVAC sales, design, or engineering.
• Strong understanding of commercial/industrial HVAC systems (chillers, VRF, split systems, ventilation, BAS Systems, HVAC Controls, etc.)
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Proficient in reading technical drawings and blueprints.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• EIT, Professional Engineering (PE) license or HVAC certification (LEED, ASHRAE membership, etc.) a plus
