Salary:

Pherson is seeking an experienced and dynamic Instructorto support the Defense Security Cooperation University (DSCU) in anticipation of a potential contract award expected to start in September 2025. This full-time role will contribute to DSCUs mission by delivering and supporting instruction for Security Cooperation Organization (SCO) personnel.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in Security Cooperation, adult learning, and instructional delivery to lead classroom activities, manage academic records, and support curriculum development aligned with DSCAs evolving priorities. Responsibilities may also include student mentoring, practical exercise facilitation, and collaboration with interagency partners to ensure training remains current, relevant, and mission-aligned. (This position anticipates onsite work with standard work hours, Monday-Friday.)

NOTE: Active Secret Security Clearance Required

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform duties as class managers in support DSCU Courses IAW DSCU and component schoolhouse policies and standards.
• Support DSCU academic and administrative efforts to include curriculum design and development, student support, exercise execution, accreditation compliance, development of performance support tools, and academic outreach.
• Provide support to programs as directed by the DSI Director, Chief Learning Officer, and Division Chief(s) to include supporting all aspects of course delivery to include curriculum development, instruction, facilitation of guest speakers, course execution support (with DSCU assistance).
• Maintain course documentation and student records in accordance with accreditation standards and DSCU/DSI published guidance.
• Support course evaluation and curriculum revisions; assist in identifying curriculum gaps and propose necessary changes IAW DSI processes.
• Collaborate with DSCA and other governmental organizations to align and integrate program instruction, maintaining currency and relevancy of content.
• Collaborate with DSCA and other governmental organizations to facilitate student engagements, guest speakers, faculty development opportunities, and identification of topics of mutual concern to DSCU/DSI.
• Assist in planning and execution of training practical exercises for DSI students.
• Provide subject matter expertise and instruction on topics related to SC/SA, to include commonly used systems (e.g., SCIP, OHASIS, etc.) and maintaining access to these systems; DoD and DoS policy and policy implementation; diplomatic status and demeanor, embassy country team, personality dynamics, leadership, overseas security, etc.
• Provide subject matter expertise and instructional support to other programs supported by DSI (e.g., Joint Foreign Area Officer Course, Defense Adviser Course, etc.).
• Provide student support, mentoring, counseling, performance support/coaching, assessment, feedback, communications, and reach back, documenting as required.
• Support the DSI Director, Deputy Directors, Division Chiefs, and course managers in addressing student-related issues.
• Maintain awareness of and comply with DSCA SCW Certification 2.0 efforts.

Qualifications:

• Masters degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in Security Cooperation or working in a SCO role.
• Experience with adult learning, instructional design training, and facilitation.
• Active Secret clearance is required.
