Position Title : Lighting Specialist

Location : Anniston, AL 36201

Work Schedule: Field checking 3 4 days per week

Duration : 12 months + possibility of extension

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Lighting Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating, designing, and implementing innovative, energy-efficient lighting solutions across residential, commercial, industrial, and outdoor environments. This role combines fieldwork, technical design, and client collaboration to deliver high-quality, code-compliant lighting systems that enhance both functionality and aesthetics.

Key Responsibilities

• Client Consultation: Collaborate with clients, architects, interior designers, and engineers to understand lighting needs and project goals.
• Lighting Design: Develop customized lighting plans that balance aesthetics, function, and energy efficiency.
• Product Selection: Recommend appropriate fixtures, lamps, bulbs, and control systems aligned with budget and design requirements.
• Energy Efficiency: Incorporate sustainable solutions such as LED technology, daylight harvesting, motion sensors, and smart lighting controls.
• Lighting Calculations: Perform simulations and photometric analyses to ensure optimal illumination levels and fixture placement.
• Compliance: Ensure all designs adhere to codes, standards, safety regulations, and energy efficiency guidelines.
• Budgeting & Documentation: Provide accurate project cost estimates and develop detailed lighting plans, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Site Visits: Conduct field evaluations, troubleshoot existing systems, and oversee installation quality control.
• Client Education: Communicate the benefits of selected lighting solutions, including energy savings, maintenance, and control options.
• Collaboration: Partner with contractors, electrical engineers, and project teams to ensure seamless implementation.
• Technology Integration: Implement smart lighting, automation, and control systems where applicable.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor s degree in Lighting Design, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, or related field. Lighting certification (e.g., LC Lighting Certified) is preferred.
• Experience: Demonstrated experience in lighting design and implementation in residential, commercial, or architectural projects.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of lighting principles, photometrics, controls, and emerging technologies.
• Software Proficiency: Skilled in lighting design tools such as AGi32, Dialux, AutoCAD, or equivalent.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with IESNA standards, energy efficiency codes, and lighting regulations.
