Job Description

As a Test Engineer on this program, you will have the opportunity to perform software development to implement test scripts, evaluate test results, and feedback loops in a Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline within a commercial cloud environment. Flexible cross-training to also provide systems engineering, software development, training, and security. Job duties are performed within a commercial cloud environment.

Primary Responsibilities

• Participate in program Agile software development initiatives (standup, planning, increment planning) to support innovation and enhancement of custom applications through iteration/functionality testing
• Collaborate with team members to assess story points/complexity efforts (using best practices) to ensure proper testing and delivery of functionality per User Story Acceptance Criteria
• Work with the Scrum Master, Product Owner, and Software Developers to develop test approaches with emphasis on automation of recurring/regression test cases using selected toolsets
• Develop automated test cases for custom applications using designated GUI/COTS products (e.g., Selenium and Katalon Studio)
• Leverage DevOps practices to ensure repeatability and configuration management of test cases/scripts are maintained and continuously improved
• Develop and document end-to-end test case narratives using JIRA/Confluence and support performance testing/evaluation activities using tools such as JMeter

Basic Qualifications

• In-depth experience testing both back-end and front-end applications; experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python) to automate tasks and develop test data/scripts
• Knowledge of or direct experience with software performance testing practices
• Direct experience with creation, authoring, execution and documentation of test cases/result sets for software products in an agile cadence
• Significant experience working/testing within Commercial Cloud Platforms (e.g., AWS) and DevOps tools, in a SAFe Agile and DevOps development environment
• Demonstrated ability to work within a collaborative environment to execute test cases complementary to development efforts
• BS degree with 12 or more years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10 or more years of prior relevant experience. Will consider additional experience in lieu of a degree
• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Linux environments
• Experience reviewing output of CI jobs and tracking test failures back to code changes that caused bugs
• Capable of reviewing code check-ins to understand the impact of code changes on system functionality and potential bugs
• Direct experience with AWS environments

Pay and Additional Information

Pay range: $126,100.00/yr - $227,950.00/yr . The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in offering an offer include responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and applicable data.
