The Staff Pad has partnered with Blue Ridge Medical Center in Blue Ridge, GA to find an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) . This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic surgery unit, collaborating with a skilled team to provide exceptional patient care.

Position Overview: PRN

As an Operating Room RN, you will assume responsibility and accountability for patients in the Surgery Unit. You will be involved in the planning, directing, and providing of nursing care, ensuring all aspects of care are in alignment with the nursing process, physicians' orders, and hospital policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide patient care during all phases of surgery, ensuring adherence to safety and procedural protocols.
  
• Collaborate closely with the CRNA, Scrub Nurse, and Surgeon to ensure optimal outcomes.
  
• Maintain a sterile field and ensure that all equipment and supplies are prepared and functional.
  
• Administer medications as prescribed, ensuring correct labeling and handling.
  
• Conduct preoperative and postoperative assessments, confirming surgical sites, drug allergies, and patient identity.
  
• Communicate effectively during the transfer of care, both verbally and in written formats.
  
• Implement patient education for postoperative care, ensuring understanding by the patient and family.
  

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  
• Current Registered Nurse license.
  
• Active CPR and ACLS certifications (or ability to obtain ACLS within 90 days of employment).
  
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an RN in an operating room or a critical care setting.
  
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  
• Ability to handle emergency situations effectively.
  

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for long periods and lift equipment or assist with patient care as needed.
  
• Visual and auditory acuity with corrective devices as necessary.
